We serve the needs of clients nationally from offices in Sydney and Melbourne. As such, this role could be located in either location.

About the role

The primary focus of the role is to provide clear and accurate research and insights for our clients’ development projects and operations. You will do this by leading a small, integrated team of analysts researching residential property, retirement communities and aged care. Key areas of work include locational demographics, market supply and demand, financial feasibility of retirement living and aged care developments and assessment of the impact of regulatory policy.

The responsibilities of the role include management of multiple projects while driving innovative thinking that supports delivery of well-reasoned, leading-edge report form advice. Having the ability to think rationally and laterally while understanding the many direct and indirect linkages within the growing seniors’ accommodation and care sector is fundamental. Exceptional research, understanding and written skills are essential to meet the requirements of this role. It is also expected that you feel comfortable to engage with and grow client relationships to build the business within Advisory and into our other lines of business.

Key accountabilities of the role are:

  • Shared responsibility for financial performance of the unit
  • Scoping projects, determining time delivery requirements and preparing fee proposals for client approval
  • Oversee the sourcing of data, research and analysis
  • Research, analyse and interpret the diversity of seniors’ accommodation types, and their funding and legislative standards
  • Manage data collection sources and design and devise methods for improving collection, sampling and processing
  • Preparation of concise and well written project reports
  • Articulate the outcomes of research both internally and to clients\
  • Engage with and grow client relationships to grow the business within Advisory and into other lines of business.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have completed as a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role in a property economics consultancy, large provider of retirement living and/or aged care, valuation agency or relevant government department. In addition, you will have an ability to work with our time billing system and have excellent analytical and report writing skills, including an ability to identify and articulate relevant metrics and trends. It is also expected that you feel comfortable leading a team and growing the business within Advisory and into our other lines of business.
