Hello listeners, we’re on the air!
Posted on 20 Feb 2025
Our National Sales Director Rob Macpherson hit the airwaves on Radio Eastern 98.1FM’s ‘Connect’ program this month, to talk all things retirement living, including Ringwood’s newest premium offering, Dux Churchill.
Hosted by Robert Arthur, Rob explained the key basics and benefits of the retirement living lifestyle choice: units are owner-occupied and designed to support ageing, a real sense of community, low maintenance and additional safety and security.
Rob also spoke on retirement living’s health and wellbeing advantages, including ease of access to in-home support services. He mentioned this could come in particularly handy as our ageing population rapidly increases and it becomes more challenging to get a spot in aged care. Rob also shared some research on wellbeing in retirement living.
Here’s a quick snapshot:
- Residents are mentally and physically healthier
- 20% less likely to be hospitalised
- 26% less likely to have a fall
- 15% more physically active
- 41% happier.
For listeners who were curious as to what’s involved financially, Rob discussed the fact that residents are well-protected under the Retirement Villages Act, and that fees are helpfully broken down into three parts, providing full transparency.
The conversation also turned to Dux Churchill, for which One Fell Swoop is handling the marketing, sales and ongoing village operations. Rob spoke about the exciting opportunities for the Ringwood area, which will be home to this new senior living community.
“We’re pretty excited…we’re right in the heart, just a stone’s throw from Eastland shopping centre and train station. It’s going to be really dynamic in that area. We find that a lot of retirees don’t want to be isolated, they want to be connected to convenience.”
Dux Churchill is due for completion mid-2026. Listen to Rob’s full interview at the Soundcloud link.
